Treatments We Offer

Our psychologists have expertise in providing the following scientifically validated interventions which were developed to treat conditions caused or exacerbated by chronic physical and psychological stress. A key ingredient of effective psychological care is understanding the type of treatment you will be receiving, how it will help, and ultimately, how to implement the skills on your own.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT is a powerful, well-studied transdiagnostic treatment that encourages you to listen, understand, and live more peacefully with painful experiences rather than struggling against them or feeling bad about them. ACT skills enable us to be clear sighted in our values and use psychological flexibility to pursue what matters.

Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) for Overcontrol & Perfectionism

We are bombarded with self-improvement messaging that tells us we need to be better than we are. RO-DBT is a powerful intervention developed for perfectionism, excessive self-control, and treatment-resistant anxiety to help individuals who are highly self-critical and prone to burnout.

Trauma Processing Treatments (EMDR, IFS, PE & CPT)

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Prolonged Exposure (PE) & Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD are a set of empirically validated trauma interventions designed for individuals who are ready to move from simply coping with their trauma symptoms to processing and truly healing from them.

CBT for Serious Illness & Chronic Pain

The demands and norms of the modern lifestyle put many of us at higher risk for a range of inflammatory medical conditions, including Chronic Pain.  CBT, PRT & Hypnotherapy are well-studied, validated interventions that have been shown to significantly reduce symptoms and improve quality of life when included as part of your larger treatment plan.

Psychological Support at the End of Life

Facing the final chapter of our lives (or of our loved ones) is among the most daunting and overwhelming of human experiences; and yet, it can also offer the possibility for a deeply meaningful and sacred event.

We feel honored to accompany individuals and their family members in their process by providing psychological support for end-of-life decision-making, facilitating difficult conversations with family members and medical providers, sharing expertise for coping with fears or resurgence of mental health symptoms, and supporting caregivers’ bereavement.

Ultimately, these tools can empower the individual and their family to live as purposefully, actively, and peacefully until death.

Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy for Cancer

Meaning-centered psychotherapy (MCP) is a manualized brief, structured psychotherapeutic intervention developed to help patients suffering with loss of meaning during grave hardship (e.g., life-limiting illness, major personal and professional losses). It is designed to help diminish feelings of despair that can be associated with severe, protracted medical stressors. Rather than trying to find solutions, it focuses on the importance of creating, reconnecting with, experiencing, and sustaining meaning in the face of adversity.

The MCP intervention is empirically validated and adaptable to group and individual formats. Learn about our class here. Therapists utilize a range of methods, including teaching, experiential practices, out-of-session practice, open-ended discussion, and interpretative feedback.
