Licensed Psychologist, Owner

Dr. Ashley Greenwell

As a practitioner, I integrate science, compassion, and the client’s own instinctual wisdom and personal choices into treatment. In our work together, we may use a range of evidence-based trauma treatments (PE, CPT, RO-DBT, EMDR, IFS) and Health Psychology approaches (ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy).

My drive to understand and harmonize differing perspectives and philosophies started young. Raised in a bicultural home, fierce debating about divergent worldviews was the norm. I knew early on that I wanted to study ethics and the psychology with the hope of channeling my values around alleviating suffering and promoting individual agency into a profession.

Now, as a practitioner, I emphasize the integration of science, compassion, and the client’s own instinctual wisdom and personal choices into their treatment. My pursuit of continual learning inspired me to move around the country, studying at the University of Washington (BS), University of California (PhD), the National Center for PTSD in Boston and in Primary Care Settings in Salt Lake City to more fully integrate the physical and psychological domains of health. I collaborate with a range of medical disciplines to build more cohesive treatment plans. In our work together, we may use a range of evidence-based trauma treatments (PE, CPT, RO-DBT, EMDR, IFS) and Health Psychology approaches (ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy).

I am also committed to increasing access to quality healthcare, offer services in Spanish, and have sliding fee options. In addition to providing therapy for over 15 years, I teach Trauma Interventions at the University of Utah and provide expert consultation services to approach life’s difficult decisions and moral dilemmas with greater clarity and skill. I also feel honored to volunteer with No One Dies Alone, a hospice option that helps people to feel supported in their final moments of life.
