Licensed Psychologist, Owner

Dr. Ashley Greenwell

As a practitioner, I integrate science, compassion, the client’s own instinctual wisdom, and their personal choices into treatment. In our work together, we can select from a range of evidence-based trauma treatments (PE, CPT, RO-DBT, EMDR, IFS) and Health Psychology approaches (ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy).

My drive to understand and harmonize differing perspectives started young. Raised in a bicultural home, fierce debate about divergent worldviews was simply the norm at our dinner table. That upbringing led me to study ethics and psychology together, with the hope of alleviating suffering and helping people reclaim their sense of agency.
Today, as a practitioner, I bring that same integration to treatment — combining scientific rigor, genuine compassion, and your own instinctual wisdom and values. My pursuit of continual learning has taken me across the country: a BS from the University of Washington, a PhD from the University of California, training at the National Center for PTSD in Boston, and work in primary care settings here in Salt Lake City — all in service of treating the physical and psychological sides of health together, not separately. I also collaborate regularly with a range of medical disciplines to build more cohesive, coordinated treatment plans. Depending on your needs, our work together may draw on evidence-based trauma treatments (PE, CPT, RO-DBT, EMDR, IFS) and health psychology approaches (ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy).
I'm also committed to making quality care accessible — I offer services in Spanish and sliding-fee options. Beyond the therapy room, I currently teach trauma interventions to future therapists at the University of Utah, and provide expert consultation for life's difficult decisions and moral dilemmas. In 2026, after years studying RO-DBT, I was named one of its Radically Open DBT Clinician Scholars. And I feel honored to volunteer with No One Dies Alone, a hospice program that ensures no one faces their final moments without care and presence beside them.
